What to write on a custom map print
Title, subtitle, coordinates, dates, names, and captions that make a map poster feel personal without overcrowding the design.

The map gives the poster its structure, but the words give it ownership. A few careful words can make the difference between a nice city print and a gift that feels like it could only belong to one person.
Keep the title simple
The strongest title is often just the place name: Paris, Charleston, Brooklyn, Santorini, Home. If you want the poster to feel more intimate, use a phrase such as Where we met, Our first home, or The long way back.
Use the subtitle for specificity
The subtitle can hold the date, venue name, address, coordinates, or a short dedication. If you use coordinates, keep other text restrained so the poster still feels clean.
Personal does not have to mean crowded. One exact detail is usually stronger than five.
